Visiting Farrier

During May and June 2008 we were fortunate to have the assistance of a farrier from Australia, Anthony, who helped train our stable staff in the art/ science of healthy horse hoofs. Thank you!

Full Moon Party

The Happy Ranch hosted its first Fullmoon Party on 21st March 2008! The night was lots of fun with great food, drinks and  dancing. We hope to have another one soon.

Now the foals have been growing a lot! Sisko isn't any more in the infernal trio, it was time for him to leave his mother and begin to learn about the social life ! But Baileys, born on the 3rd October 2007
will not be waiting too long before joining Diego and Meass !

While Meass (photo on the left) is growing and running all over the ranch dragged by her best mate Sisko, teaching her all the bad habits (photo in the middle)... Diego, our new foal born on the 28th May 2007 (photo on the right) will soon be able to join the Dream Team and everything might become totally out of controle !!! Ahh...kids...

The Happy Ranch days have started and every second thursdays, children from orphanages or associations in Siem Reap come and enjoy free lead rides and cart rides at the ranch, sponsored with soft drinks by the owner of BananaLeaf bar, Amok restaurant, Champey restaurant and Cambodian BBQ... The Happy Ranch will now start a donation programm so that some of the most motivated kids can have regular riding lessons at the ranch ! For more information, check out our page on the Happy Ranch days.

Another little foal just came to light up our days ! Much darker, much smaller than Sisko, but SOOOO cute ! Meass is a little female born on the 15th of April 2007. She will stay 6 months with her mummy before she joins a group of other young horses to learn all about her social-horse life !

WELCOME to THE HAPPY RANCH! The HAPPY RANCH was built and estabished by Mr. Pann Sary in 2002 in Siem Reap, Angkor Province, Cambodia, near the world famous Angkor Wat temples. It is the only Western style horse ranch of its kind in all of Southeast Asia. Situated just 5 km outside Siem Reap town, the Ranch is a modern stable and riding facility set on 15 acres of beautiful Khmer countryside, amidst small villages, country roads and some of the most beautiful scenery you will see in Siem Reap. The stables accomodate over 20 horses, mostly Khmer horses, a unique breed. I'd like to welcome you to our Happy Ranch...I love horses and everything about them. They are the most sensitive and beautiful creatures on this planet and can give you untold hours of pleasure, relaxation and enjoyment. Come ride with me, explore the temples of Angkor Wat and the surrounding Cambodian countryside which is green, lush and full of history...The Khmer people are open, warm and happy to have you visit and ride amongst them. I look forward to seeing you in the saddle.... Best Wishes, We are open 7 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm Contact us: 855+016920002 or 55+012920002 Email us at: info@thehappyranch.com We accept individuals or groups up to 6 for trail rides, groups up to 20 for cart rides. We are in no way responsible for injury during rides and you must sign a waiver before riding. Let's saddle up for a ride out into the beautiful countryside...mornings are fantastic - the air is cool, the sun is breaking, your mount is ready and raring to get out and explore! We start as early as 6 a.m.; it's a great way to start the day... Afternoons are just as nice - starting at 3 to 4 p.m., the sun starts to hang low, the hot part of the day is over, people are heading back to their villages.... Learning to ride a horse properly is fun and invigorating...most people are afraid of horses but there isn't any need to be. Horses are extremely sensitive and intelligent creatures; most of all they require you to be firm and confident when handling them. Therefore, we offer riding lessons, English or Western, to help you get more out of your riding experience... We provide boarding for your horse at the Happy Ranch...Rest assured that your beloved steed will be taken care of, fed, exercised and watched over as if he or she were one of our own! Our ranch hands are trained by Aussie Deb, our stable manager, to be the most caring and professional, rivaling board and care of any Western stable in the world... Handmade from Khmer wood, our horse carts are the perfect solution for a family with young children or a group wanting to explore the countryside together...
