New Foals

On the 24th of April 2010 France gave birth to her foal with Mexico. A lovely long legged filly who we have named Paris.

   

We now have a total of 45 horses!!!

Another Happy Ranch day was a total success. The kids enjoyed lead rides and cart rides, some of which had never been near a horse before. Heaps of excitement for these underprivileged children of Cambodia.

 

 

 

Sunrise Rides

 

   

 

The best time to ride! Avoid the crowds at the temples for sunrise and have the entire countryside to yourself, along with the locals. The temperature is perfect and the scenery is gorgeous.

 

 

Jumping Competition

 

     

We’ve been training our horses in jumping which has been great fun for the staff and horses. We even held three jumping competitions which included contestants from Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

WELCOME to THE HAPPY RANCH! The HAPPY RANCH was built and estabished by Mr. Pann Sary in 2002 in Siem Reap, Angkor Province, Cambodia, near the world famous Angkor Wat temples. It is the only Western style horse ranch of its kind in all of Southeast Asia. Situated just 5 km outside Siem Reap town, the Ranch is a modern stable and riding facility set on 15 acres of beautiful Khmer countryside, amidst small villages, country roads and some of the most beautiful scenery you will see in Siem Reap. Let's saddle up for a ride out into the beautiful countryside...mornings are fantastic - the air is cool, the sun is breaking, your mount is ready and raring to get out and explore! We start as early as 6 a.m.; it's a great way to start the day... Afternoons are just as nice - starting at 3 to 4 p.m., the sun starts to hang low, the hot part of the day is over, people are heading back to their villages.... Learning to ride a horse properly is fun and invigorating...most people are afraid of horses but there isn't any need to be. Horses are extremely sensitive and intelligent creatures; most of all they require you to be firm and confident when handling them. Therefore, we offer riding lessons, English or Western, to help you get more out of your riding experience... We provide boarding for your horse at the Happy Ranch...Rest assured that your beloved steed will be taken care of, fed, exercised and watched over as if he or she were one of our own! Our ranch hands are trained by Aussie Deb, our stable manager, to be the most caring and professional, rivaling board and care of any Western stable in the world...
